The star of Netflix’s fantastic series The Lincoln Lawyer, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, has landed the lead role in Amblin Entertainment’s new Jurassic World movie, and he will star alongside Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey.
Gareth Edwards will direct the film, which will be “a completely fresh take” on the franchise, with a whole new cast of actors playing all new characters.
Steven Spielberg is also a producer on the film and original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp is writing the script for the movie.
Edwards previously talked about why he jumped on this Jurassic World film project, saying: “I was about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in.”
He added: “I love Jurassic Park. I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece… so this opportunity is like a dream to me. And to work with Frank Marshall and Universal and David Koepp, who’s writing that script, I think they’re all legends. So I’m just very excited.”
We have no idea what the story for the new movie will entail, but we do know that it will involve dinosaurs wreaking havoc in the modern world because that’s what all of these movies are about.
Universal Pictures is looking to release the film on July 2, 2025.
