HYDE unironically released his latest digital single “6or9” on September 6, along with an exciting psychedelic music video that perfectly complements the party anthem.

The compilation of clips shows HYDE riding a tricycle before his show at Zepp Nagoya, crowd surfing, and initiating mosh pits at his Zepp Haneda show. He also films himself with a 360-degree camera on the Tombori River Cruise in Dotonbori, Osaka, and on an observation platform at Tsutenkaku Tower. HYDE also causes chaos by smashing up everything in a break room. To top it all off, the cute but deadly GLOOMY the Naughty Grizzly makes an appearance too!

The 6or9 music video all comes together with dizzying camera angles, glitchy and striking animation, and a heightened sense of velocity perfectly suiting the chaotic atmosphere and the fist-pumping and intense track. The lyrics also brilliantly slot in as it uses opposites like “Inside out, Inside out”, “It’s the other side of the coin”, and “Sing of love and hatred say yay yay yay yay!”.

It’s a lot to take in, especially with the pulsating beat assaulting the senses but you can see that HYDE is having a lot of fun! Especially when he’s eating natto on pizza backstage before jumping into the audience, and hanging around on top of his own advertisement truck with his band, looking like delinquents.

But all of this is not enough to capture the psychedelic chaos of the track 6or9. Check it out for yourself below!
