Hulu has revealed a new official poster for its upcoming revival of the beloved animated sci-fi series Futurama.

Signed by series creator Matt Groening, the poster for Hulu’s Futurama revival features the cheeky tagline, “We’re back again! Again!” It centers on none other than the core trio of Philip J. Fry (Billy West), Turanga Leela (Katey Sagal), and Bender Bending Rodriguez (John DiMaggio). Also present and accounted for are Dr. John A. Zoidberg (West), Amy Wong (Lauren Tom), Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (West), Hermes Conrad (Phil LaMarr), Zapp Brannigan (West), and Nibbler (Frank Welker). The iconic Planet Express ship can be seen flying gracefully in the background.

Futurama has been revived before

As the poster’s tagline implies, the upcoming Hulu revival is hardly the first time Futurama has cheated death. The series initially ran on Fox for four seasons from 1999 to 2003. Following its initial cancellation, Futurama was revived for four direct-to-video feature films, which released from 2007 to 2009. These four films were split into 16 episodes, which aired on Comedy Central as Season 5 from 2008 to 2009.

Comedy Central then picked up Futurama for a regular-length Season 6, which aired in two parts from 2010 to 2011. The seventh and supposed final season of the show then aired on Comedy Central from 2012 to 2013, also in two parts. In 2022, Hulu officially revived Futurama for Season 8.

That said, Hulu’s revival is actually being billed as Futurama Season 11. (This counts each of the four films as one season, on top of the four Fox seasons and the two regular Comedy Central seasons.) Hulu has commissioned 20 episodes, which will air in two 10-episode parts. Part 1 is slated to premiere this July and will run through September.

The new season of Futurama premieres Monday, July 24 on Hulu. Episodes will release on a weekly basis.
